A birthday gift for my friend Lara
This is one of the vintage finds I nabbed from
Freshman's Boutique in Sheffield (£10!). Needed a quick altering job

When my friend Taz kindly gave me one of her nan's old sarees to make something with, it took me a while to decide what to do with it. Because I'd never worked with silk I didn't want to risk making something complicated! So decided on cushion covers :) Take a look!

Whipped this up the other day. I meant to make a collar for it too but got too excited to wear it before I managed to get it done! It's a lot less complicated than the last one so took a lot less time.
Got this lovely fabric from Leicester market
I used the same method as the
tie-dye shirt dress in that I used a dress I already had to make the pieces. Chopped 'em out of the fabric and there they are!

So remember I told you to watch this space on my [
tie-dye curtains post ]? Yes? No? Well check out this little number
Oh yes, the tie-dye dress is here! As my first
proper dress-making attempt I must say I am pleasantly surprised (shocked and amazed) at how well it has turned out. And it's ready just in time for the warm Spring that has kindly landed itself upon us. Here's how I did it :)
